Journey from Kiev, Ukraine to Obfelden in Switzerland

In February 2022, Russia initiated its invasion of Ukraine, launching attacks on Kyiv, the home of the Lisnichuk family.

At the time, Andrii Lisnichuk was employed as a property development manager and had recently purchased a new home for his growing family. His wife, Yuliya, was six months pregnant, and they were raising their two-year-old son, Damian. Concerned for the safety of his family, Andrii made the profoundly difficult decision to leave Ukraine. Yuliya gathered their belongings, and in March 2022, the family departed, driving through Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria in search of refuge.

Eventually, they were connected with us through the International Community in Zug, where we were able to provide them with temporary accommodation and assist with their registration as refugees. Leveraging our expertise in relocation services, we supported the family in obtaining refugee visas and facilitated their integration into life in Switzerland.

Following the sale of our house, we were deeply grateful to the Waddington family for offering the Lisnichuks a new home and additional support, particularly during the arrival of their daughter, Adeline, in late May 2022.

We are incredibly proud to have assisted this wonderful family in now securing their own residence in Obfelden. Over the past two and a half years, the Lisnichuk family has demonstrated remarkable resilience. They have learned German, integrated into the local community, and enrolled their children in kindergarten and playgroups. Andrii has successfully secured employment, and the family celebrated Christmas 2024 in their own home.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Halter AG in Schlieren for welcoming the Lisnichuks as tenants in their new apartment. We also thank Nicole for facilitating a seamless handover and everyone who generously supported the family during this journey.
